Looking to ring in the new year with low-key vibes? Or maybe you want to be the life of the party while surrounded by DJ’s? Whatever your pick, CT Food Girly knows all the best local spots to fit your perfect New Year’s Eve mood! Each Tuesday, Kevin and Jenna talk about all things food in Connecticut with Alex from CT FoodGirly. Check out Alex’s picks below:
The Hops Company, or THC, in Derby is having their annual New Years Eve Party. It starts at 8pm, they have a dj, drink and shot specials and more. I personally love this brewery, it has an awesome outside, fun games inside and it has a full food menu and Zuppardi’s pizza has a
location inside as well.
144 Temple, located in New Haven is having three dj’s, a complimentary champagne toast at midnight, signature NYE cocktails, party favors, decorations, and more. If you want a serious nightlife venue, this will be the spot. The doors open at 8pm here as well.
Also, in New Haven, is the newly opened Gioia. They are offering a special 4-course pre-fixe menu with two different time slots for seating. If you haven’t checked out this new Italian restaurant yet, this will be the perfect event to really see how delicious this new spot is on Wooster Street.
In Hartford, there is a new restaurant called RAW, and they are kicking off their New Years Eve with an unforgettable night of celebrations. Performers, DJs, food, drinks, live music too. They have a first seating and second seating meal option during the night. The seafood looks fantastic, this is the same restaurant that owns the Place2Be, the instagrammable – brunch spots all around CT.

The Stamford Comedy Club is having a show called New Years Eve Laughs. This is something I would prefer to do on NYE. They have six different professional stand up comedians throughout the night, food and drinks for purchase, the show starts at 7PM and it sounds like a fun-filled night of laughs and a different way to enjoy downtown Stamford on NYE.
In Hartford, on Pratt Street, that is a vibrant community, luxury apartments, great retail and restaurants all around you, well they are having a New Years Eve Ball Drop Watch Party. They will have the ball drop broad casted on the big screen, live music from a band, champagne toast at midnight and then a dance party with a dj right after the ball drops. This is another NYE event I would love to do.
Another NYE event that I thought was different and could be great for the soul is Sahaja Yoga is hosting a New Year’s Eve Meditation and Yoga class that night. This is a great way to unwind after the craziness of the holidays and anyone can join the class via your laptop.
Lastly, in Madison, The Wharf Restaurant is hosting a New Year’s Day brunch with a beautiful view of the beach. They are having an all you can eat buffet with a carving station, omelet station desserts, bloody mary’s and mimosas. I think this could be a really nice switch up if you
want to turn in early on New Years Eve, but still want to enjoy a New Year’s celebration in the morning instead.
