Pet of The Week: Guinea Pig Sisters Panda and Sakura
Every Thursday Kathryn from Connecticut Humane Society joins the show to tell us about another pet that needs a home.
This week we have guinea pigs, Panda and Sakura!
- Panda is a 1-year-old female smooth hair guinea pig. She’s the black and white guinea pig pictured.
- Sakura is a 1-year-old female Abyssinian guinea pig (her hair is a little fluffier than Panda’s) and she’s the brown and Chestnut guinea pig pictured
- They both came from another Connecticut rescue just after Christmas who needed a hand finding these cuties a new home. Before that, their previous owner had developed allergies and was no longer able to keep them
- They are both great little guinea pigs who enjoy being picked up and cuddled.
- They are a bonded pair which means that they love each other so much they must go home together.
- Guinea pigs are relatively easy to care for once you know how. They are curious critters who love to explore, and they can even be trained to respond to tricks!
- They’re both available out of our Westport location so you can fill out an online adoption application to come and meet them.

He thinks it’s financial infidelity that she made a purchase that big without telling him. She says that she’s an adult, she has a job, she doesn’t have to tell him everything she buys. She bought it with her own card- he argues that it’s THEIR money, not just her money and he should have told him. Do you agree?

Nicole and Sam’s daughter is a softball player and just started high school this year. She’s very good and committed to the sport, it’s expected she may play up sometimes for varsity. They didn’t realize that when they booked their Spring break that it would be required by the school for their daughter to attend practices and there would be a tournament too. They’ve made it clear that if players miss practices or the games, they will sit out two games during regular season as punishment. Mom says they need to cancel their trip to Costa Rica. Dad says that it’s ridiculous that the school would require this for a holiday week and he’s pulling her out to go on the trip. What do you think?

Chef Plum’s Crockpot Recipe!

Recipe for Chef Plum’s Crockpot Chicken:
Whole, uncooked, chicken
Chopped up carrots, celery, and onions
Place both the chicken and the veggies in the crockpot.
Add a large drizzle of olive oil to the top of the chicken/veggie mix.
Then add:
A few full cloves of garlic to the top of the chicken
Two sprigs of fresh rosemary
Salt/Pepper
½ cup of white wine over the entire thing
Cut up potato wedges to the pot
Set on Low for at least eight hours
