Each Tuesday, Kevin and Jenna talk about all things food in Connecticut with Alex from CT Food Girly. Today Alex helps us celebrate Stamford Restaurant Week with some of her favorite Stamford places including a few EPIC desserts.
$20 LUNCH / $40 DINNER
The Americano, which is located in the heart of downtown
Stamford, offering elevated American dining and really tasty crafted cocktails. For their prix fixe
menu, I would get my hands on the apple goat cheese salad, and their Nashville hot chicken
sandwich for $20.00. For their $40.00 dinner menu, I wouldn’t pass up their french onion soup,
braised short rib ravioli and their caramel brioche bread pudding. That’s a really great deal.
Another tasty spot following the same price points is Bari 167. This is your classic delicious
italian restaurant that also serves specialty pizzas, paninis and calzones. For their $20 lunch,
definitely try the bruschetta with fresh marinated tomatoes, then their penne vodka, which looks
incredible. For their $40 dinner, I would head for the yellow fin tuna appetizer, and squid ink
fettuccine with shrimp, calamari, mussels and more.
Another one on my list is Bedford Hall, for their $20 lunch, I’m thinking the tuna tartare nachos
or the general tso’s calamar. Second course, I’m looking at their cubano sandwich or olives and
oil pizza. That sounds delicious. For dinner, beet and goat cheese salad, with their brick chicken
a la diablo, I bet it’s super spicy and really hits the spot. For dessert at Bedford Hall, I’m
absolutely going for the smores lava cake over the raspberry cheesecake, but both sound
amazing for $40.00.
The last one on my list is Fish Restaurant and Bar. For that $20.00 lunch the salmon lettuce
wraps sound nice and light, or their pork belly lollipops. Then either the crab BLT or spicy
yellowfin tuna poke bowl – can you tell I love tuna?. Then for that $40 dinner, I would do their
new england clam chowder, cajun shrimp for dinner and end my night with their dessert of the
day. They are also doing $6 house wines and $10 flavored margaritas.
A couple other spots that are following this same $20 lunch and $40 dinner are: Capriccio,
Columbus Park Trattoria, Divina, Hudson Social, Kotobuki, Kouzina Greek Taverna, Love Meat,
Peter Chans, Noches de Colombia, Towne Parlor, Zaza Italian Gastro bar and Tutti Pazzi.
DINNER SPOTS ABOVE $40
Starting us off with Bar Rosso. They are offering a $55 dinner with a first course of their polpo,
which for those who don’t know that is octopus or grilled octopus, their mista salad, or their
arancini balls with hot sausage and broccoli rabe – sounds delish. Next course, they have a
cacio e pepe pasta, braised short rib, and a branzio which is a tasty sea bass, white fish, very
tender, and for dessert, their panna cotta.
Next, we have Blackstones. They are offering a $55 dinner with a first course of their clam
chowder, stuffed rice balls, caesar salad, or farm fresh salad. For entrees, they have a filet
mignon, angus steak, salmon, pesto chicken, or lobster ravioli – my favorite. For dessert they are
offering banana foster, carrot cake, cheesecake, or chocolate mousse cake.
Next, we have Flinders Lane. They are offering a $55 dinner with a first course of their
fried cauliflower, steamed chicken and dumplings or their red beet and spinach salad. For your
main course, they are offering butternut squash gnocchi, braised lamb cavatelli, or a wagyu beef
burger. Then for dessert, ice cream and sorbet, sticky date pudding or passionfruit pavlova.
Then, we have Siena. They are offering a $45 dinner with a first course of their lentil soup,
escargot, or mussels. Entrees, they have a meat tortellini in a cream sauce, branzino, or a pork
