A co-worker told Alana that she had seen her husband at a bar the weekend before, and when she approached him to say hello, he was cold and didn’t respond. She said, “I work with your wife, isn’t Alana your wife?” and he said no and continued to ignore her. After the co-worker told her about the awkward situation, she asked her husband (Hector) and he said that yes, it was him. He didn’t want to talk to any women and he thought she was trying to flirt with him. She argues that if anyone asks if I’m your wife, you say yes. Hector says he didn’t do anything wrong, he just didn’t want to make small talk. Was he wrong to deny that he was married to her?
