It’s always a good idea to use your manners in public. It’s what we teach our kids and just the overall nice thing to do. At this one place it could even save you some money!
There is a coffee place over in England who created a sliding scale based on how polite the customer is. If you walk up to order and say “hello” and use “please” you pay about $2 for your tea or latte. If you say just “please” it might cost a little more. If you say neither and just bark your order “tea” or “small latte” you’re going to pay over $5 for it.
Some people might hate this idea, but those are probably the rude people! It’s a good reminder to always be polite wherever you go. It could pay off in the end.
