Every time you bring them home from the store they’re soaked! Why are baby carrots always so wet?
It all starts with how baby carrots are made. They do not grow in the ground like normal carrots. They’re actually made from carrots that are too ugly to sell in the store. The process is to cut them into chunks and polish them using water into the rounded shape. This makes them very water logged.
Water is also put into the plastic packaging bag to keep them moist. Since they have no skin they can dry out quickly. So next time you’re drenched when you open a bag of baby carrots… that’s why.
