Happy National Pizza Day! All your life you’ve probably just called it “the crust” when eating a slice, but there is a technical term for that outer edge of the delicious pie. It’s called the “cornicione” (Italian: corn-ee-chone-ey). In English is pronouced “Cornice”. The word means the “end crust”. Which makes sense.
It doesn’t really matter what it’s called to me, as long as it’s crispy!
