Kissing under the mistletoe might not be as popular these past few years because of COVID and all, but it seems to be back. People have been kissing under the decoration for years and it all dates back to Norwegian mythology. Frigg, the goddess of love, promised to kiss anyone who passed under the berry-laden plant after it saved her son’s life.
Then in fast forward to the 18th century, that’s when the Christmas tradition started to catch on in England.
