Today is National Coffee Day. Hope you have a cup, or 8, already. Today we are wondering where coffee was first discovered and how?
The legend that has always been told is that an ancient goat herder in Ethiopia started to realize that his goats had far more energy than usual and were acting out of character. He had a theory that it was the berries they were eating from some of the trees and plants. He was right. Those “berries” turned out to be what we know today as coffee beans. At the time he brought the berries to a local monastery nearby and they discovered what they were and how they could make the coffee we know and love today.
