Any time you’ve handled money in bill form you’ve probably wondered what material the bill is made of. Most people assume it’s paper. Which is not the case.
US banknotes are actually 75 percent cotton and 25 percent linen. Which makes sense why if money in your pocket goes through the wash in your pocket it’s not the end of the world.
