The first time I can remember thinking about being in radio, was when I heard the Beatles on the radio back in 1964. One Monday @ St. Paul's school in Valley Cottage NY, all of my classmates were buzzing about "The Beatles" on Ed Sullivan the night before. (I missed it because our family watched Walt Disney on the one tv set we had in the house). I couldn't imagine why all the fuss was being made about a bunch of insects. But soon after when I heard them for the first time on radio, the earth moved for me. I saved up enough "of my own" money to buy "Meet the Beatles" and spent hours listening to the album on the family "Victrola", pretending I was a DJ. Soon thereafter I got a little transistor radio at a Sinclair gas station (remember those?) and started going to sleep at nights with the radio under my pillow. That's when I started entertaining little fantasies about working in radio. Since I stunk at math, couldn't hit a curveball and got kicked out of altar boys that ruled out becoming a teacher, baseball player and a priest respectively. Radio won by default.

I got involved in college radio and upon graduation 8 years later (not a typo) I made stops at radio stations in Dunkirk, Buffalo and Rockland County, all in NYS. In 1983, I joined 106.7 in NYC just before it became Lite-FM.. In the process, I have had the pleasure of working with some of the best colleagues one can have. Many are friends for life.

And now, I am ecstatic to be part of the STAR 99.9 family.

I live in the suburbs with four great kids (all girls), and my lovely wife Lisa who is a New York state Teacher of the Year nominee. I love to exercise ( have run the NYC marathon 6 times-aiming for 10). I greatly enjoy reading spiritual books. And eating all the wrong food-thus the exercise (Lisa is always scolding me about my diet).

I am involved in the American Cancer Society and The Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America. I also love off beat humor and writing!

And, just so you know, I'll never reveal what the "E" stands for!
