Autumn arrives on Tuesday.....Lots of people dread it because they know whats next....WINTER!

There are plenty of reasons to embrace the Fall season.......

1. Apple pie...just had a piece from Lyman Orchards...delish...Apple cider too..

2..Chili, Stews etc..Love the change in eating habits too..Nothing like a pot on the stove on a chilly Sunday...

3. Hay rides with your significant other....romantic or what...

4. Fires in the fireplace....who knew I was so romantic..

5. Baseball playoffs, the NFL ....

6. Fall foliage......

Reasons to dislike the Fall...

1.RAKING LEAVES....

2. Having to turn on the furnace for the first time....

In my opinion there's more good than bad.....embrace your inner Autumn....

To everyone who came by and cheered for me at this years Milford Oyster fest on Saturday.....

Came in 2nd out of 12...Did 12 in 19.5 seconds. The winner was 19 seconds. Yes it was that close.

Having the shell of the first Oyster slice my nostril was not pleasant. Oysters are really dangerous when you try and eat them to fast...They are made to savor. As much as I love

them, I didn't really taste them...too fast.....

It's amazing how life can change in the blink of an eye....

33 Year old Saha Goldensohn, an engineer for Google was walking to work in Central Park, and was hit in the head by a rotted 100 pound tree limb.

Here was a guy, probably rich, working for Google...wife and cute child, the world his oyster, and bam. A tree that was probably there for 100 years or more loses a limb at the exact second he was walking under it....so sad and random.

Live life like every minute could be your last...Love your family and let them know you do....

Dance like the old man from the Six Flags commercial......why not? We only live once, and life is so fragile and precious......

So, we're on the way to Va. Beach, on 95 heading South. "LET'S DO LUNCH" I say...

Something local...Punch in food, and up pops "Pep's Crab shack".... It's only 4 miles away. We reset the destination for Pep's and off we go.... It's getting shadier and shadier....we finally pull down a dead end residential st. Voila...we are supposed to be there. It's a dead end with not so nice houses...no shack...no crabs....

Bottom line....be careful out there...We ended up going to Popeyes chicken......

Monday June 15, 2009...

I don't know about you, but I Love food! I could really eat every day....it's that strong of a Love....Anyways, over the weekend we were staying with another couple in Utica, N.Y. Hot tubbing and grilling...it was quite Lovely.... They had this condiment that was a lot like the Arbys Horsey sauce......Horseradishy...Tried it on a Hot dog with pickles.....To die for!

Give it a shot the next time you fire up the grill........

The only good thing about the lack of sun and the overabundance of rain is the lawn is looking great! We'll see how it fares come August...enjoy the week

Cheer up! It's going to be a decent weekend, and Monday is JUNE 1ST!....YAY!

That means warmer weather has to be on the way, right? The grass is growing like, well weeds....It has to be cut this weekend. I'll be taking my Allergy buster and hitting the riding lawn mower....

Looking forward to June 19th. My wife Cindy is a huge Earth Wind and Fire/Chicago fan...

They just so happen to be playing together at Foxwoods. If any of you are heading to the show, let me know. Maybe we can hook up at some point....Keep smiling, the sun is not gone forever, and thanks for listening to Mike and Marit...I don't usually talk about myself in the third person.......

After watching Farrah's Story over the weekend...I am thankful for another birthday.....

My father reminded me that I was born at 6:17 a.m.....Thanks Dad...for remembering...

It's amazing how Farrah was one of the most recognized faces in this Country thirty years ago....Succesful, healthy, and thirty years later fighting for her life... The hair she was most known for, gone! She is an amazing woman handling it the way she is...

After watching the show,I immediately ran downstairs and jumped on the wii fit.... We are all here for a short time...let's make the BEST of it....!

Normally when I try, I just can't do it. At least not loud enough to matter. That all changed Saturday night. We were at my wife Cindy's coworkers house for a little get together. I made my meatballs( fresh parsley is the key).They went fast. .....

Anyhow, it was getting late and we had moved inside to sit in the living room. At this point we had been there three hours and it was getting late.Being on at 5 am means I'm up at 3 a.m., and that means early to bed.It is still hard to keep my eyes open, after ten, even on weekends. I was trying to get Cindy's attention with my eyes to let her know I was falling asleep...She wasn't reacting so I snappeed my fingers three times....REAL LOUD. Everyone just looked at me like.....why did you just snap your fingers...I kind of just left it there for a couple of minutes, then announced I was exhausted and needed to go. Cindy was rightfully horrified....Not something I'll be doing again....Sorry honey....

So I told Cindy I was going to step up my wii fit workouts and try and get into Brad Pitt "Fight Club" shape......Probably not going to happen.....BUT....Did she have to go out and by Rollo's?...220 calories each.........Then she puts them in a candy dish in the Living room...

If they aren't there I don't ask for or buy them....If they are there, I eat them....She then gets upset that I left parts of a few wrappers in bed.....So I ate Rollo's in bed!!!!

It soothes me and puts me to sleep......

Looks like I'll be looking more like Kevin James from King of Queens at this rate.......

Monday 4/20/09.......

As I was on my couch watching the Yanks get beat 22-4 on Satrday, it occured to me that there had to be a bunch of peeps who were not happy that they paid ALOT of money for their seats, add parking, refreshments, souveniers etc. Only to see the opponent score 14 runs in the second inning. No ever team in the History of the Majors, had ever scored 14 runs in the second inning of any game, EVER!

Glad I was home watching for basically free.......

Cindy pointed out that Mark Texeira looks like Prince William. Not always, but at times.....
